Getting your home ready to put on the market is no small task! But, with you focusing your efforts on just a few key areas, you can ensure your house will be showcased in the best possible light and get top dollar for your home.
First and foremost, declutter, declutter, declutter! Moving is the perfect time to get rid of those items you don’t use anymore or simply do not need. Even if your home is naturally spacious, extra stuff can quickly make it feel small and messy. Throw away, donate, or box up anything that is not essential to your everyday living before you move. If needed, consider renting a small storage unit to stash away excess items.
Once you declutter, clean! Clean ceiling fans, vents, baseboards, doors, windows, floors/carpet, the outside of your home, and everything in between.
Freshen and fix up your home! Touch up paint and consider painting bold paint colors a neutral color. Replace any light bulbs that are out (inside and outside) and complete minor home repairs. Consider adding a few colorful accessories like throw pillows, vases, etc.
Lastly, plant a few fresh flowers in the garden bed and display fresh cut flowers or plants inside the house. The beautiful colors and lovely smell will make your house stand out from the rest!
